Very accommodating as 7 of us showed up 30 mins before closing. All the sushi was fresh and creatively displayed. Can't go wrong with any of the selections. Thanks

Great emjaleoeno eel roll and conch salad.. Also the papaya salad was great if they added more shrimp.. No complaints at all but hated the spider roll. Portions are large and fish is fresh :)

Have been here a few times, getting something different each time. We have never been disappointed. Tonight our daughter and her friend were starving so we ordered edamame to start. It took a little long to get it, but it was delicious and plentiful. Both kids then got the kids sushi plate. It comes with California roll, one shrimp sashimi, two crab sashimi and one piece of cooked egg that is sweet. They serve it with grapes on a Mickey Mouse plate which the girls loved. The husband and I shared the octopus and conch spicy salad. It was okay but not great. At $10 I wouldn't order again. Also ordered the kanisu appetizer of cucumber, crab, some other ingredients and a rice vinegar sauce. This was great and I would order again. Very fresh tasting with great tang from vinegar. For sushi we ordered the spicy tuna roll, which was perfect, and the fire scallop roll which was great. Had a great crunch to it and nice blend of ingredients. Docking a star though because service was SLOW. Friendly and nice, but very slow.

I've been here twice now and we enjoy it. The service is good. They are always nice. The first time the service was excellent, but this last time the lady wasn't very attentive especially given there were only about 6 tables seated in the entire restaurant and there were multiple servers. The first time I had the red curry chicken which was very good, but I still prefer the red curry at Red Thai in Hollywood. The second time my wife and I split the spicy tuna roll, JB tempura roll and the volcano sushi. I found them to be decent. Nothing really wowed me though. Their prices are a bit on the high side, but not unreasonable. We will continue to come back as it's pretty close to home.

We had a fabulous experience tonight. Our party of 7 was seated promptly and our waitress was very attentive. The food was delicious as were the rolls. We eat Asian at home a lot and this place did not disappoint!

This is the best sushi I have ever eaten in my entire life, and the price is unbeatable. Don't think twice - just come here and savor the Red Dragon Roll with a side of sake.

Another Spring Break dinner stop proved to be both a surprise and a delight! Being able to sit at the sushi bar and order both rolls, nigiri, and Thai food was a treat. The quality, taste, service, and portions put this place over the top. Friendly banter with the sushi chefs made for an enjoyable meal, along with an attentive and good natured waitress. The place was packed an our food came out on a timely basis. Quick water refills and frequent stops to make sure we had everything we needed was appreciated. All this an we had enough in the doggy bag for lunch the next day. Our Pad Thai, Pad See Ewe, 3 rolls and 4 nigiri pieces all received high marks for freshness, presentation, and great flavor. Yum!

We walked from our hotel to this restaurant after reading the Yelp. The food were very good. We ordered love boat for me, papaya salad, California roll, lecture wrap, chicken soup....all food are excellent and the cost is only half what we dined at our hotel the nite before. The service was very good.

I was looking for a place to eat lunch in Sunny Isles, and I remember someone telling me about this place, so today was the day. I knew exactly where it was located, but the address is a little misleading. The entrance to the plaza is on 170 st, but the address is 17100, so you could easily get lost trying to find it. Also, the parking in this plaza is extremely hectic. That being said, I arrived, parked and went in for lunch. My friend who I was meeting arrived already, and ordered. I sat down and waited to order, and waited, and waited a little more. It wasn't that busy, but it appeared our waiter was lazy. Anyways, no big deal, I was not in a hurry. He came and I ordered. I got the tofu (fried) pad thai, added extra veggies, and a salmon skin hand-roll. The lunch also came with a miso(horny) soup. Yes, thats what I call it, a tribute to Uncle Luke. So the salmon skin hand-rolls came out, and they had plenty of crunch, just how I like it. They were kinda small, which was expected. Im spoiled. I expect my salmon skin handrolls to be as big as a baseball bat, but it tasted good. Pad Thai came out, as well as my friends sushi bento-box. I always have food envy, I would have eaten that sushi bento-box and my Pad Thai. I didnt think my Pad Thai had any extra vegetables, but apparently it did, I just had to dig deeper to find them. It looked like standard veggies, but whatever, I was hungry and didn't want to argue. The Pad Thai was good, although I think it had a little too much fish sauce, and the size was pretty decent. I think this place has a lot of potential. Im borderline right now between a 3 and a 4, mainly because the service was a little lackadaisical, but since the food was good and I left satisfied, Im giving them a 4. I would definitely go back, because I want to try more sushi and give them another opportunity to earn a solid 4 stars.

This place was very good! The service was quick, and the prices were decent. Portion size was very acceptable. Only reason why I didn't give it five stars is because you have to really know what kind of noodles or other type of meat you are getting.

Very good and fresh Japanese food. I went for the lunch special. Place was quite empty, but not a problem The only downside was the sashimi price. Quite expansive, other than that, I really like it. Good alternative for those who live close by, and much better sushi than Epicure

Tan is one of the owners and the owners are all hands on either serving or cooking. you can request items off the menu and they always can make it for you, and better than you ever have had. The beer menu is large and I always try something different. I do enjoy the hot saki and love the walk back to my condo with a nice satisfied feeling. Make sure you tell Tan I send you, lol!!!

Bottom line: it's a fairly good sushi restaurant and you could definitely do worse. The prices were also fairly reasonable, which is always a plus when going for sushi/sashimi since bills as sushi bars can spiral out of control quite quickly. The ambience, while nothing striking, is modern and clean. It's also not a particularly loud dining room, so you and your companions can talk. We kept fairly basic for the most part, starting with the "Super Tuna" roll (a spicy tuna roll topped with a piece of tuna) and your standard-issue JB Roll (salmon, cream cheese and scallions). I have a theory that you can tell a lot about a sushi place's general quality by how well they can make the basic, vanilla varieties. This is particularly true in Miami, where sushi/sashimi places have a tendency to engage in flights of fancy and add get quirky with the rolls -- often creating flashy concoctions (more on this in a bit). In both cases, these basic rolls were competent and tasted good. We did go a little more adventurous with the Red Dragon Roll -- which is shrimp tempura, masago, spicy mayo, scallions and asparagus topped with tuna. It was likewise quite good, although not spectacular. However, I do unfortunately have to heavily ding the "Fantasy Roll". A friend of ours got it, it was huge (so good value in that respect) and I tried a piece. I really disliked it. I don't know if it was the fresh fruit, the smoked fish or what, but it tasted fishy, not fresh and lacked that clean taste I associate with sushi and Japanese food in general. I probably wouldn't go back on my own initiative, but it's definitely one of those places that if friends wanted to visit I would have zero objections. As long as I steered clear of the Fantasy Roll.

This place is really nice and clean. Modern and it has lots of natural light, with nice music ambience and still quiet enough to talk. It is always packed and we now know that they have a few special items. We had the coconut shrimp soup that was super tasty! The best I've tried! The summer rolls were ok but nothing interesting. The Pad Tai was made by order and fresh. Nice subtle flavors with not much spice and I wanted to try sushi rolls and had the Red Dragon roll which I think was ok, not as good as the Tai food and it was served cold (shrimp tempura as a filling) probably because it was set there to wait for the pad tai. Great service and good location, the parking is crowded all the time so a few minutes are needed to find a spot.

Great variety of Thai, sushi and Chinese dishes at reasonable prices. A bit crowded and noisy but what can one expect from Sunny Isles?

First stop during our visit to Miami. Super hungry and wanted something healthy and close to our resort. Lunch special is good price for good portioned dishes. Had lettuce chicken wrap ($10) to start (eat with your hands, don't expect dipping sauce since chicken is well seasoned). We got pad thai with tofu (you get a selection of meats) and chicken teriyaki bento box (came with California roll, Sushmi on ice and chicken on a seasoned salad). Lunch special comes with miso soup and for an additional $2 a salad. Spent $30ish overall. Good place to visit!

Exquisite food by Manhattan standards. Very delicately and deliciously prepared. Service is friendly and attentive to details and wishes. I'm quite spoiled by having lived a year in Rome and 23 years in NYC. I believe this establishment can throw down a tough competition to most Asian restaurants in Manhattan.

As an avid sushi lover I'm always looking for a great little spot close to home to meet some of the standards set by two of my favorites (Sushi Rock and Siam Palace) neither of which are close to me in Aventura. I glad to say I crossed the bridge found myself here. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. We were quickly seated and decided on Lettuce Wraps and Kimono Shrimp as an appetizer. The lettuce wraps were fantastic both juicy and moist served with these perfectly crispy rice noodles. The Kimono Shrimp was wrap in a flaky dough stuffed with chicken. The dipping sauce paired perfectly. For dinner we ordered the Volcano Roll, the Dragon Roll, and special fried rice. The Volcano Roll looked just like it's namesake. The rolls piled on covered with a warm seafood like salad complete with red fish eggs mimicking an erupted volcano. The Dragon Roll was just as delicious with the shrimp tempura perfectly fried. Now the special fried rice was simply fantastic with huge chunks of beef, pork, chicken, and shrimp. We definitely can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes.

Meh.... Average sushi. Lots of fake crab and not the freshest fish. (Didn't try anything but the sushi) Slightly overpriced, but it is Miami, so no biggie there. I'm always leary of sushi bars run completely by Vietnamese or Chinese. This one is Vietnamese. Pros: Location Lunch specials have some bento box options Cons: Overpriced for the quality Parking is a nightmare. Tiny spaces and overcrowded lot. Not Japanese (sushi)

Okay, so I've been to this place before and I absolutely LOVE the sushi here. The previous times i've been i've had the black dragon roll, the green curry, the spring rolls and several other sushi/sashimi orders. The sushi is 4 stars for sure! Today... i took my friend to this restaurant hoping to have a great time. We enjoyed our appetizers and were really looking forward to our main course. My friend LOVES lobster so she ordered the lobster pad thai. Before posting this review i scrolled through others reviews and noticed that the pad thai isn't this restaurant's strong suit so maybe they should take it off the menu. My friend got her lobster pad thai and it was obscenely salty. The amount of sodium not only caused her to drink her whole glass of water after one bite but she even made me try it to double check that she wasn't going crazy! Obviously we sent the pad thai back. She had to let 2 different servers know before they even took the meal away. When it came to getting our bill the manager came over and handed us each our bills and the lobster pad thai was not taken off of my friends bill.... even though she had MAYBE 2 bites of it. The manager then proceeded to show us that she did us a "favour" and took $15 off the bill even though the pad thai was $30!!!! So we obviously started arguing with her saying "why should we pay for this when we didn't even have half of the food! There was no enjoyment in the meal, when we order food and we pay for it we expect it to be cooked properly." The manager then replied "i am trying to make you and us happy. I talked to the kitchen and because it's lobster and very expensive it can't be fully taken off" I continued to argue with her. Stating that if she is the MANAGER she has full authorization to fulfill proper and good customer service. Which she wasn't doing. My bill (separately from my friends) was 50 dollars. I gave her the money and I said "I am paying for my bill because i ate my food. you should not charge her for the food she DID NOT eat." The manager then goes onto FURTHER argue with me stating that "i don't care about your food, i'm not worried about it, I don't want to upset the owner" so I asked her for the owner's phone number. She didn't give it to us. So i told her to call him and explain the situation and see what he wants her to do. She said to my friend "if you would have let us fix the order this could have been fixed" so I asked "how could you fix over salted food???" she replied "we can just make a new one" so i said "what is the difference between taking THIS meal off her bill and making her a brand new one. It's the same concept, the same price." She then STILL decided to argue. Once we didn't budge she said "okay i just needed to talk to both server and customer" But that's not true. if she needed to talk to us she would've come to talk to us BEFORE she printed the bill. not after. The service here was not great. I still left a nice tip but I will NOT be returning here because of this horrible customer service. This establishment needs to hire better help and deal with their customers better! In the end she did take the lobster off the bill after 15 minutes of arguing IN the restaurant causing a scene. This could have ALL been avoided if she actually acted like a proper manager and gave us the customer service we deserved. I have never EVER been to an establishment that made me pay for a meal i didn't eat. This would have been a first if we had let it slide.

I ordered the mango sushi. It was good but I thought it was overpriced by three dollars. The service was pretty good my food came out fast. I ordered a veggie dumplings as well they were pretty good. The restaurant little modern very clean it was not as busy at the beginning of dinner time. There is outdoor seating all the food looks pretty good. I took out pineapple fried rice as well and it was pretty good but it's again may be three dollars more than it should but I would definitely go back. I would go back just to try the pineapple fried rice it's something I haven't seen around my travels.

The food here is good. I love thai fried rice in general, and this place's version is very nicely done. I got the beef fried rice made spicy. The beef portions were very generous and the meat was actually quite fresh which surprised me since most of the time in fried rice the meat is not all that fresh tasting. They also nailed the spiciness. It was enough to make your nose run a little, but not so spicy that you are struggling to eat it. To me, that's perfect. I also had their sashimi platter and I was impressed. Good quality fish and generous portions. The service was good too (just the front desk as I ordered take-out). Prices are perhaps a tad on the high side. That's my only gripe. I will definitely come back to this place as it is tasty and within walking distance for me.

Pretty good place. A tad overpriced, but food was great and service was good. Most sushi places in the area aren't very good, so this is definitely one of the better ones. Prices could be better though. First sushi place I've been to that charges you for green tea.

Fantastic!!! Went there last night (2/24/15) and the food was great!! The service was great!! We are just here on vacation and so happy we found this place. Wish we lived closer to go again!!! My favorite roll was the Dragon Roll!! Second favorite was the Tuna Jalapeño roll.

Pretty much my second home. Have been going to this restaurant since they opened. The waiters know me and my family and are always so loving and efficient. Everything you order will be good and will blow you away. Their rolls, sashimi, noodles, rice, salads, appetizers, everything is delightful and tasteful. They have a huge variety of food and it never disappoints you. It is never empty and never too full.

I ordered the following via delivery to my suite at the Doubletree while in Miami last weekend: - Wonton Soup - Red Curry with Chicken - Spider Roll - Mongolian Beef I found the Wonton Soup to be too oily, the Red Curry chicken was OK, the Spider Roll seemed a bit too cooked (the temperature was hot - not as in spicy, so this was unusual), and the Mongolian Beef was OK, but the beef quality was a bit below average, and the meat was a bit too chewy. I give it 2.5 stars. Acceptable, but not ideal.

Sushi and Thai food was a good combination. I ordered the garlic duck it was delicious. I like how it was crispy on the outside and it was roasted on the inside. The sushi rolls was great too. Service is excellent don't know if it's because I'm Thai but great experience. I would go back next time I'm in town

Absolutely Amazing!!!! After doing a little shopping close to our hotel, we decided to grab something to eat and being Rice was so close and that I had heard such great reviews about it, we decided to stroll on over and check them out. Rice is located in a little shopping center off Collins Ave, right next to a local supermarket. The restaurant is small, yet elegant and classy. We had a warm welcoming from the staff and got a nice seat close to the window, perfect to watch the nice sudden rain storm that hit. Japanese and Thai is the Menu selection which is something I have never encountered. They have a really nice selection of sushi to choose from along with an outstanding selection of Thai options to choose from. I was in more of a Thai mode, so I decided to go with there lunch special of the Red curry. It comes usually with rice however, I opted out on the rice. I also had a nice cup of Green tea. My dish came out within a good timing, presented mouth watering beautiful and my was it everything I anticipated and more! Pure excellence! You can taste the quality and passion that goes in to there food! My boyfriend is not necessarily a big Thai food fan and found the dish outstanding as well! I really enjoyed this place and give it 5 stars all around! Clean, elegant environment, excellent food and genuine good service. Such a pleasure!

Went to dinner with my Sushi Group and really enjoyed the night and the food. I had the dragon roll, it was beautiful. I also had the summer rolls which I tried for the first time. Since I'm eating healthy they will be on my what to eat list when I go out for dinner. ice The menu is fantastic. I'm definitely gong to go back. My friends had the coconut soup, Pineapple Fried Rice, dried fish and the coconut soup and shrimp. I"m taking a star off because the service was slow to take our order and to get the check. We got our food fast.

Very mediocre, yet popular and crowded sushi place: sushi was not particularly fresh, somewhat on the slimy side. Service is mediocre and slow until it was time to check out, at which point we were swarmed with attention. We waited ~20 minutes to get a hot tea refill. I am not going back, but if you are yempted, do make sure to make a reservation!

This Thai/Sushi restaurant was disappointing. The lettuce wrap appetizer was bland and the flavor of the pad tai entree was completely off. The worst disappointment was the service. After our server took our order we never saw her again. We had to flag someone down to get our check to leave. I won't be going back.

I can't understand how this place could possibly get any positive reviews, at all not to mention how they could stay in the business. Must be because people of Florida do not have any clue about what good sushi is or isn't. Ordered spicy tuna roll (HR), yellow tail scallion roll, and eel avocado roll with miso soup and sake for dinner. What possess them to put sugar in everything it is unbeknownst to me. I had never ever experienced such awful taste in sushi. How can mess up a simple tuna hand roll? They put big slices of cucumber in tuna hand roll and an abundance of sugar so what you are having is some sort of sugary salad mixed with completely ruined fish flavor: can turn any stomach of anybody with any good taste in food, I am not kidding you!!. Couldn't eat it although paid for anything and everything that I ordered and wanted to try thai with the hope that maybe they won't put sugar in those and won't mess that up too? Have you ever tasted sugary thai? I had to put insane amounts of spice in it to camouflage the awful taste as I was hungry and needed to eat. The manager is a clueless Asian woman who never even remotely smiles, doesn't have any sense of customer service, speaks like a robot, extremely rude, arrogant, so over the top unpleasant..you don't even believe a real person can be that way, it is like a character from a cartoon. Service is awfully slow, wait staff is equally clueless and quite terrible. I won't go back there ever again even if Jesus Christ came down to share a meal with me!! LOL!! 'Nuff said?

  • Yiwen W.

The curry duck rice is not tasteful! It doesn't taste like a Asian style. Mixed too much cream, cheese and curry, the origin style is totally lost. I don't think it is a good way to cook food like this. Since the name is Rice Asian, they should do as the taste of Asian. Otherwise, we can't know what is the real taste of Asian.

Loved this place! They are so nice and accommodating, and the food is quite good! They even have a roll with NO RICE--called the "Wonder Roll," probably short for "Wonderful"! Also several options that use thinly sliced cucumber or other type of wrapper for those who don't like seaweed. Brilliant! So glad to have a go-to sushi place in Sunny Isles--and the outdoor seating is a nice bonus! Will be back for sure.

My hubby got us takeout from this place (AH MAH GAH YAY) and it was yummy. Spit a sashimi platter--good and fresh, just how it should be. I had the red curry medium spicy with beef. No complaints, the curry is above average but not knock your socks off amazing. They give you really a lot of it (I had it again on Monday for lunch and it was yummy then too), the only thing is they are not joking around w/ the spiciness, order it less spicy than you think you want it lol. Yum-o.

We were in the area for Ultra last week and I demanded that we go for sushi at some point. Since this was the highest rated sushi joint in the vicinity of my hotel, off we went. I got the California roll (I tend to play it safe) and chicken pad thai. M got the tom yum soup, spicy tuna roll and pork pad thai. Our friend got the chicken teriyaki. The California roll was really good, the crab/cucumber/veggie ratio was just right and the roll didn't fall apart. I've had California rolls where the cucumber was cut into tiny matchsticks so when I ate it the cucumber just kind of smooshed out everywhere. Not exactly ideal. The chicken pad thai was good -- better than any pad thai I get at home. The noodles didn't clump together and the sauce was delicious. I snuck a piece or two of M's spicy tuna roll and it was delicious! Not fishy at all. He also enjoyed his pork pad thai and the tom yum soup (which I got to taste) was nice and spicy! M let them know that he's a fan of very spicy food so they went all the way and made all his dishes spicy for him. I thought that was nice and I know he really appreciated it. The service was very nice and polite. When the server brought my wine out, he first poured a bit in the glass so I could taste and make sure that I like it. That's never been done anywhere that I've been in Philly! It's the little things that make an experience so much better.

We were looking for a restaurant where we could sit outside for dinner in the cool miami weather. How lucky we were to stumble upon this restaurant! Our waitress was very kind and did a great job explaining the different items on the menu. My friend and I were undecided about which sushi rolls to get, and she was very helpful with her suggestions. I ended up getting the sunny isles roll. Thought it was a little pricy at 23 dollars, however it ended up coming out with vegetable tempura as well as a side of fruits and a side of seafood salad. Awesome! The roll had a mixture of tuna, crab and yellowtail. The tempura flakes were perfectly crispy and there was just enough masago. Yummy! My friend had the mango roll - another delicious choice! We'll definitely be coming back!

I LOVE the Sunny Isles roll. It contains tuna, salmon, and yellowtail; tempura flakes on top; a side of not-too spicy sashimi salad; tempura veggies; and grapes!!! For one roll!! I normally share it with a friend. It's plenty of food. Their curry is amazing as well. Service is average, but I have no complaints.

Excellent sushi and Thai food. In fact, the sushi was among the freshest I've had in a long time. Service was great. Very friendly/happy waiter. Reasonable prices. This is a keeper.

Only the broth in the coconut soup was tasty. Pork fried rice was dry, tough chunks of pork in overcooked rice without much else in the rice, not roast pork, pad thai with pork was the same tough, dry pork, lettuce wraps are a quarter head of lettuce that you have to wrap yourself, no condiments to help flavor or moisten the food. A waste of money.

Reasonable prices and $3 delivery is awesome! The roll was good but the miso was easily the best I've had! I'm not one to get excited about miso but it's really that good.

I was in Sunny Isles for an appointment in this huge shopping center, like HUGE. I passed a couple of "jamba juice" style shops but when I saw the sign for this sushi bar I realized that a juice wouldn't hold me for my hour drive home. Went in, it was quite empty - they open at 1 p.m. but it was a very attractive spot. Hushed and quiet, they seat people in all different corners when it is empty. That's considerate. My service took a minute. Started with a seafood salad, which was huge btw. and ordered their wonder roll, which was awesome as it has no rice. i liked picking it apart and tasting the tuna, salmon and yellowtail. I also had a mackerel/saba roll - yes I'm a brave one. I have a pet peeve. If i see my sushi already prepared on the counter, why wait to bring the hand roll out, so I asked my server if that on the counter was mine, and so upon my request the roll came out, followed by the hand roll. It was nice, quiet, I enjoyed catching up on my emails (I guess wi-fi was free?) and was in and out of there in the perfect amount of time for a solo lunch. If I'm there again, probably will stop in. Total bill, with tip - $32. Not bad.

The service and food are always good. They didn't get 5 stars only because they failed to mark our take-out with the appropriate levels of spice. My hubby ordered his spicy, my daughter not so much. It was had to tell after doing a taste test at home. Besides that hiccup, we go here whenever we have a taste for red curry. The JB tempura roll is pretty good too and so is the salad with ginger dressing.

I ordered once here, back when I used to live around the very same plaza where RAH is located. I ordered -- I can't remember -- something with rice and sushi (oh, isn't that the name of the restaurant?). Anyway, I remember thinking it was just 'OK', hence a 3-star, A-OK review. Considering I'm no huge fan of Asian, I'd rather stick with La Barra (located in the sama plaza), and just get my Argentine-grub-on. These Asian establishments haven't been cuttin' it, lately.

Price was on high side. Sushi was very mediocre. We didnt't really enjoy what we were eating. We got deluxe tuna roll $13 And sunny isles roll $23 Tom yum soup was not very good. Ginger salad was delicious. Service was also very good.

We were in town for our last night at the Newport Resort and I wanted to depart from another slice of pizza or hotel food, and being on the ocean, it just made sense to seek out some decent sushi. Rice Asian House offered sushi for me and Thai for the girlfriend. I ordered the Tuna Deluxe that came with a Spicy Tuna roll, 2 tuna tataki (briefly grilled and served sushi style) and 2 tuna nigiri with Miso soup. My girl ordered the Thai Chicken Curry Panang. My soup was nice...I don't love Miso but I enjoyed it. When the entrees came mine came on two plates each with a nice accompaniment of wasabi paste and pickled ginger. The Spicy Tuna roll was well executed but it could've used a lot more spice but I enjoyed it too. The tuna tataki was something new for me and being seared for a few seconds it was a dryer tuna sushi than I've ever had and I liked it with it's threads of green onion and ponzu sauce on top. the Tuna nigiri itself was really nice. My girl loved her Curry Panang and told me it was maybe the best she's ever had. Service was great, the restaurant itself was clean and our hostess was really friendly and pleasant on our way in and out. I'd love to come back here and run the gamut of sushi delicacies and Thai creations. It's definitely worth a try.

I feel like since I've discovered red curry I've been on a mission to taste red curry any chance I get. Usually I'm expecting it to be phenomenal and for the most part it's usually satisfying. I also feel like it's not hard to mess up so it is also not that easy to make impressive... That being said, the red curry here was DELICIOUS. It's unlike any curry I've had before and I think that's due to the simple fact that everything was so FRESH. The veggies were still crisp (as in, not-soaking-in-old-sautee-oil) and the basil was so fresh and flavorful. It looked as if they threw a handful of basil in the curry right before serving... perfectly wilted but not mush and not dried, either. It was just so delicious and satisfying. We also had the steamed veggie dumplings as an appetizer and those were also incredibly delicious. Again, they were unlike any other dumpling I have had and I feel like it's because everything was just so fresh. I didn't get the freezer taste or the generic out-of-the-box taste either. Even if they are both of those things they still fooled me into thinking otherwise. My partner had the pad thai and said pretty much the same things about that dish: very fresh, not too-saucey-oily, and very tasty. He also had an eel bbq roll and was a huge fan and says the bbq eel sauce was delicious. The wasabi was also incredibly fresh and pungent. If it were closer we'd be back, for sure. We may even make the drive up to Sunny Isles if we are ever craving curry or pad thai.

After over 3 years of living in Aventura, I've finally found a sushi restaurant that has a great variety of rolls and other non-sushi options for my fiance. Our first experience with Rice was actually from a pick-up order we called in. We ordered on a Thrusday night and it was surprisingly busy. When I arrived home, everything was fresh and packed perfectly. The salad I ordered was a little pricier than most sushi places, however, it's a pretty big salad, so I can't complain too much. Needless to say, after our initial test with Rice, we went back to the restaurant a few days later to dine in. We weren't disappointed. The service was on-point, and again the food was delicious. I've had their super tuna roll and dragon roll, both which are so good. My fiance had their pad thai (he didn't seem to be a huge fan at first - said it was actually better "second day"). The second time he had their panang curry and was a fan. Thanks to Rice I can finally enjoy great sushi near home.

Waitress was very nice or else this place would get 1 star. Sushi was well below average. We got the volcanoe and dragon roll and neither tasted good. I actually had a hard time finishing it. We also got the fried calamari, which the pieces were huge but not at all what I was expecting. Prices were fair. Nice people but bad food

DELISH. Three words. Red Dragon Roll. So good. Almost a perfect blend of flavors and the greens used were so fresh. It had shrimp tempura, spicy mayo, avocado, scallion, asaragus, cucumber, and masago and it was topped with Tuna. The tuna definitely topped it off and made it perfect (you literally get a cherry on top too!). I've always wanted to find the perfect roll with shrimp tempura and this might be it. I ordered the Tom Yum soup with shrimp and I really enjoyed that. It was actually more lemon-y / tarty than I assumed but it was still a good flavor to me. Also! My friend ordered a Spicy Tuna roll in addition to the roll he ordered and it literally was the BEST Spicy Tuna Roll I've ever had. The Tuna was so tender and full of flavor. Whatever they're doing to that Tuna, they were doing it right. My friend and I went at night so the lighting was dimmed but the atmosphere was very relaxing. The service was superb. She was very attentive and was very helpful with my roll selection. This place would be perfect for a date night with your spouse but it's also a great place to go with your friends to catch up. It's in Sunny Isles off of Collins in the plaza behind the Pollo Tropical. Everyone there had that feel-good vibe while they were sippin' on their wine. I'm so glad I found this place and it's so close to home! I cannot wait to go back and try their entrees. I LOVE noodles so I definitely want to give their Yaki Udon, Soba, and their Pad Thai a try!

Came here on a Friday night in search of sushi. Not as busy as I imagined at 7pm but it was a rainy day. Started with an appetizer: Spicy conch and octopus salad. It had good flavor but was mostly a high pile of lettuce and cucumber slices, rather stingy with the actual seafood. Had to try the Red Dragon Roll since it was getting rave reviews - tasty and comes with a good amount of pieces. Would order again. Also had Volcano Roll (good), California Roll (nothing to write home about), and Spider Roll (not bad). We tried the Baked Alaska dessert, decent flavor but not very satisfying. Service was attentive and quick to respond to our requests. Overall, the food was good and I would come back. One of the better choices for sushi in the area.

We order from here frequently and are never disappointed. We also always ask for lots of alterations (we are vegan and don't like lots of oil in our food, among other quirks!) and they have never messed up our order, which is VERY unusual. The only knock against them, is they charge extra for brown rice and for ordering rolls with the rice on the outside, which has always struck me as a bit nickel and diming, but I forgive them because the food/service/cleanliness are so good. Our favorites include: panang curry w tofu, tofu pad see ew (with alterations to make it vegan), steamed veggie gyoza, and avocado rolls inside out. But, anything you get here is bound to be great! We take people here all the time, and everyone (even our meat eating friends) is always happy. As a matter of fact, we ordered from here tonight and my wife is on her way to pick it up! I'm sure it'll be another yummy meal! Thanks to all the great staff at Rice! :)

I had the pad thai, and it was pretty good, although it was not spicy. I like mine a bit hot, but still, the flavor was quite good. I got it with fried tofu instead of meat, and it was cooked perfectly, which really impressed me. I'm usually fairly picky about my tofu, so I think this really was fantastic tofu. The service here is pretty good. Our waiter was polite and to the point, since it was busy. Our large party's food and drink arrived in a timely manner. The one small criticism I would have is that two of the people at our table had to wait several minutes for their meals after everyone else had received theirs. However, this may have been because we were eight people in a busy but small-ish restaurant (there may not have been enough room in the kitchen to save all the plates plus food for other tables).

Restaurant was very nice, clean and well kept. We were seated immediately and the waitress was prompt attentive and nice. Down side to this place was all the screaming toddlers, I swear I felt like I was at a damn chuckie cheese. Also the restaurant will not let you substitute menu items. I wanted to sub the salmon roll for the Cali roll with my sushi platter and was quickly informed that this was not possible, even though I would pick up the cost difference. Overall I liked the food. I would recommend this place. Hopefully your visit will not include screaming children.

Great service. Thai ice tea * Miso soup * Dumplings * JB Tempura Roll * Pad Thai = Delicious! This small place is beyond exceptional compared to overrated "trendy" spots in Miami. Chef did a great job and the host was a gentleman.

3 of us ate here today, and we all are disappointed. My green curry tofu dish was luke warm except for the rice on the side. My husband ordered the veggie combo dish which looked nice but bland in flavor and veggies not fresh. My brother in-law whom will eat anything, actually said it was ok. I will say the waitress and busser were friendly, attentive and the ambience was nice and clean.

Good sushi and food! I just wish they had more variety with sushi rolls. I live two minutes walking distance from this place so I am there often. When I go in and sit they allow me to order the spicy tuna roll with the spicy on the side but when I do togo they don't. When they don't allow me to order the food I want I don't order and they lose my money.

I went with a party of 5 to Rice for dinner last night after having read the reviews. We were all determined to try the red dragon roll and it didn't disappoint. Everyone was satisfied with their choices in rolls and sashimi. My only disappointment was the tuna tartar, which ironically, the kids all loved (they have hated it at every other sushi restaurant). I found the tuna to be slightly over seared and tough.... I like it to almost melt in my mouth but the texture to me was off. Other than that, incredibly attentive & fast service, delicious rolls, great saki!

THIS IS MY FAVORITE SUSHI PLACE IN MIAMI!!!!!!! A hidden gem!!!! The service is phenomenal... the food is awesome quality (like I don't even know how they find such great quality fish and other sushi restaurants in Miami don't) **Try the GK roll it's unique**

Went to this place a few days ago trying to get some sushi but we were pretty DISAPPOINTED. I would not recommend going o this place if what you want is sushi but you may be lucky to find some other hot asian dish to fill you up. In my case, we REALLY wanted sushi but nothing looked good on the menu so we decided to go chinese instead. I got miso soup (it was ok) and my bf got a chicken wonton soup (it had such a weird smell --- my bf asked for sriracha sauce and they brought a red ketchup type container and that thing tasted NOTHING like sriracha. Since we were not to sure about all that we decided to share a mongolian beef, which came with a SMALL side of jasmine rice ( Extra small). It was NOT a mongolian beef, it was more like a beef stew dish. it didnt taste bad at all but it was NOT the mongolian we expected to receive.

Service and the food were both great. I felt like the rolls were pretty large. For two of us, we had the red dragon roll, the volcano roll, and the mango roll. It was too much food for the 2 of us, but all were very tasty!

I LOVE this place. I've been here many many times.... My friends that have since moved away were there more often than I, but even when I had moved away for almost 8 months, the staff remembered me from even just a couple visits by name. Always so friendly and the food.... delicious. Consistent presentation, friendliness, and quality.

This place was so damn good, I will definitely come back. I had the calamari as the appetizer which was fried in tempura style and came with a sweet, red dipping sauce. It was just amazing and really got me excited for the rest of my food. My main course was the Mandarin lobster which was just super scrumptious especially with the mushrooms and pineapple mixed in. I also had some kind of sushi, don't remember what I ordered, but needless to say it was GREAT since I was already full from the calamari & lobster and still kept shoving the remaining sushi pieces in my mouth even though I felt like I was going to throw up from being so full. Their lemonade is also really good, not too sweet. The waitress was really nice and checked up on us the perfect amount of times.

I went here for lunch one day and was very impressed by how friendly the staff was. Very attentive, polite and on top of everything. I had the chicken teriyaki bento box, and it was good. Their menu is vast and it includes everything from Japanese sushi to Thai dishes. The extensive selection on the menu inspired me to go back for the dinner the next day. The service was just as good. We tried some of the sushi and it was just OK. Nothing special. But good. I would probably go back for lunch if i am in the area. They got me with the good service.

Checked out this place because I all the great reviews and I came to find out it was right across the street from me which is awesome! But I must say I was not impressed. Service was ehhh and the sushi was typical sushi. The salmon was chewy (not good) and the appetizer the shrimp fried and friend vegetables was small and nothing special. Only thing I liked was the volcano roll. Pretty good and nice chunks of fish in top.

  • Maureen T.

Dined here last night. Thought it was a great find for this neighborhood. Had the Tempura appetizer and it was steaming hot and delicious- plenty for two. Veggie sushi with asparagus outstanding and the garlic shrimp stir fry was also very good. I am giving it 5 stars cuz the service was super! Tan was our server; he was attentive and not pushy- just the right amount of attention. Lastly. I am a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc snob and the type they carried( by the glass ) was really good!

This was definetly my go to sushi spot when I lived in Miami. The fish was always fresh. The sunny isles roll was the best bang for your buck. A large sushi roll, spicy fish salad, and fruit for $25. Not too shabby at all!!! People watching was always great and even caught a few Russian superstars eating here!

Space is surprisingly clean and well appointed. I had the spicy tuna roll, the hamachi (yellowtail) roll, and the wonder roll. The fish was fresh and the presentation of the food was well done. The wonder roll was by far the best, though initially I had reservations about having a roll without rice. One big complaint I have is that it took about 15 minutes for the chefs to prepare 3 rolls- even though the entire restaurant was empty. After reading a few of the reviews, it looks like this is a common problem, so definitely don't stop in if you are in a hurry.

Stopped by for dinner after studying at Starbucks a few doors down, not expecting much. Surprisingly enough, Rice was a very cozy restaurant with big flavors. I took advantage of the beautiful weather and sat outside, which was perfect. Ordered the R.K roll, a tuna roll wrapped with rice paper for an appetizer, and it was delicious! (try it with a side of Kim-Chee sauce). I had the mixed vegetable pad see ew as an entree, which had the right Thai flavors! It was a very generous portion that's great for sharing. I've got to stop by for lunch one of these days to try their reasonably priced lunch specials.

Found this restaurant through Yelp...Thank you!! Just ordered delivery from here last night...only giving 4 starts and not 5 because the delivery took rather long and because I have not tried everything on the menu yet. I ordered two stir fry dishes for my friend and I and they were both delicious. We got the Mongolian Beef and the Garlic Sauce with shrimp.. both were hearty portions, very appetizing and fresh... we were both very impressed. I will definitely be dining here again very soon!! :-)

Great food! Love the "C-Food Platter!". I share it with my husband and he eats the rice that comes on the side. The sauce is to die for. The sushi is also phenomenal. The service is good. Even though we tend to have the same very friendly and helpful waiter, sometimes it seems like it takes a little long to get our food or drinks, even when they aren't busy. I tried to order take-out once and it was a bust. I called 3 different times in hopes of getting someone on the phone who understood English. By the time I got to the restaurant our order was totally wrong. The woman was not very helpful and she really shouldn't be the hostess or pick up the phone until she learns English (I think she speaks Tai). It's a great place to go in person, just don't order take-out unless you speak Tai.

I absolutely love this place. I order out almost every week and their food is great. They are consistent and their soups and curry are very good. You also have to try their Thai donuts, they are incredible. All the sushi is fresh too. I recommend it 100%.

Probably one of the best restaurants in south FL. This is my favorite place to eat sushi and thai. I have taken so many people here and they all love it. Try the alaskan salad and the mango roll. The service is always pleasant. I am highly critical of my food and eat here all the time now.

Upscale sushi restaurant with a somewhat forgettable name on the shopping plaza. Some dude took me here recently. We ordered a boatload of sushi - yes, it came on a boat. A variety platter of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, white fish and silverfish (just kidding). All yummy. Thanks, Nice Asian Bar & Sushi Lounge!

So I went to Rice last Friday for dinner with the family. I had read some great reviews and decided to take the chance with the fam who are always very critical. We ordered some appetizers: chicken lettuce wrap, shrimp dumplings, tom yom goong soup (could have been more spicy). Let me just say overall, THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT We ordered about 8 different rolls and they were all great. One that stood out the most was the spicy salmon roll.... very hard to find in these parts, but it was delicious. The restaurant has a very cool ambiance, played chilled out lounge music and had a young 30s crowd. The family signed off on it (phewwwwww) I'll definitely go back with the friends soon. Check it out!

Comparing this place to California Asian food, this place is pretty bad. Costs exactly the same, but not good at all. They definitely use a lot of MSG because my throat was really dry after service. I had about 5-6 glasses of water there and a couple when I got back to the hotel. The lobster pad thai I had was extremely salty, the rice noodles clumped together a lot, was greasy, and the lobster was fried and overcooked. No lime or lemon came with it to cut the grease at all either. The volcano roll we had was a California roll that they just threw some crap atop of. I had no idea what the stuff was, but it added some flavors to it, I guess. It didn't taste bad, but I wouldn't order that again. A friend ordered a duck curry that had crispy skin, but also was very salty. All in all, not horrendous, but definitely would be below average in comparison to Thai or Japanese food in SF.

Dropped in on a Tuesday night and it was predictably dead -- no idea what the atmosphere is like on a 'normal' night. Seemed to be approximately your usual strip mall Thai spot, maybe a half a click less cheesy than normal (again, hard to tell because when I was there it was very quiet -- I was the only customer in the dining room for quite a while, though there were some people eating outside). But the thai food I had (tiger tears app; chicken panang curry) were both very good -- not mind-blowing, but certainly more than just solid/average. I'm a sushi lover and tried a very off-the-run roll: three types of fish wrapped with no rice. I think they called it the Wonder Roll. It was an odd sensation -- the absence of the rice but the presence of the seaweed made it unlike either sushi or sashimi. The fish tasted fresh enough, but I can't say I'd order that one again. I would visit here again and give the sushi another try if I was in the neighborhood.

No recent reviews for this place. More upscale than your typical Thai/sushi place. The Thai dishes are just great, haven't been disappointed yet. There are some very good sushi rolls, better than at the average thai/sushi place. Sake is available, decent wine list. Nice interior and friendly staff.

This review is for when I went in November. I am always wary of sushi restaurants where I don't know anyone who has eaten there. Especially since I am visiting Miami for the holidays I had my doubts. This place quite honestly blew my socks off. Hands down the BEST sushi I have had in a long time. For starters I had the spicy conch and octopus salad. It was A-MAZINGLY fresh and spicy and so flavorful. Then for my main meal I had the fire scallop roll and it was equally as good. Now I can go home with a happy full belly!

Everything here was really good. Just had saki and beer so can't comment on the drinks. The portions were huge so we definitely over ordered. The decor is real nice and the service was excellent. Not sure how it compares to other places in the area but we had a wonderful meal.

I had an excellent lunch here. Maybe this isn't a destination restaurant, but if you are in the neighborhood and looking for sushi or Thai, you will not be dissapointed.

Original choice of food, love the special, especially the sunny isles roll; which is in fact an amazing collection of appetizers. Service is a bit slow though, but I recommend Rice. Try it for lunch the bento boxes are worth it!
